Fruit of the pool

szabadonbalaton’s Fruit of the Pool confronts visitors with the rapidly changing landscapes of Balaton Uplands by questioning contemporary urban planning approaches that aim to quantify, categorize, systemize, and measure nature. Recreational and holiday land use often conceals landscape transformation interventions planned in vineyards, orchards, and farmland under the guise of agricultural activities. Fire-water reservoirs and fruit-washing pools are, in reality, swimming pools, complemented by paved car parks, asphalt roads, and multi-storey "agricultural-villas" in the landscape. How and where do the needs of spatial/urban planning align with those of landowners and users? The tasting will offer samples of pool-fruit from this evolving landscape for consumption.
